Communal Hut Revamp!

Our communal hut needs a little TLC. This hut was originally from the now-defunct Blue Cross Cats home. We use this hut for committee meetings, and it has also been used in the past for spring shows too. It needs a good revamp as some of the timbers are rotted, as you may have seen when you park up on the allotment and in the pictures. The committee feels that this is a great asset to have with a replacement, which would cost hundreds, if not thousands.

The committee has given the go-ahead to obtain new tongue and groove panels to stop the weather from coming inside the hut. Also, the floor needs some support as it’s very “springy.” Luckily, we have someone from the membership that has taken on this task and that it is being completed with no labour costs. We will also be adding brand new LED lighting.

It will take a lot of work to complete. Please take a look at the progress if you have time. Any member can use the hut as long as you remove any property when you leave. Obviously, it is currently being ‘done up’, so it’s closed at the moment. 🙂 Please come back for the continued progress report!
